Proclaiming the Gospel Together

EASTER is here! Easter is one of my favorite holidays, most importantly because of what this holiday represents for my family and me, and for each of my brothers and sisters in Christ. This holiday represents new life in Jesus Christ. Easter is a time to consider what Jesus did for us on the cross. He gave His life as the perfect sacrifice to offer forgiveness of sin for all who believe in Him. Easter Sunday is a day to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, He did not stay dead, but rose from the grave!! He is our risen Savior and in Him we have new LIFE now and forever when we trust in Him and receive His salvation. This is the gospel! Chris and I are thankful for what Christ did for us and the new life that He has given us. It is our hope, motivation, and life, and we want to tell others this good news and help them learn how they can know the love, hope, joy, and peace that Jesus gives to His followers.

This is what God has called us to do in Armenia, Colombia, and we want to invite you to partner with us in taking the gospel there. John 3:16-17 tells us that God sent Jesus into the world to save the world. Matthew 28:19-20 tells us to go teach this news to all nations and make disciples. God calls each of us to do this, but in different ways.

A couple of weeks ago as Air1 Christian Radio did their annual fundraising campaign to fund their station for another year, they asked their listeners to partner with them through a financial investment. Though they have the radio station and all the tools necessary to broadcast the music, they are listener supported and rely on their partners to invest in their station to enable them to stay on the air. They understand that they can accomplish a lot more and impact more lives when they invite people to join them.

Partnership is a huge part of our ministry in Colombia as well. When we first joined with South America Mission, I knew that God had called us to be missionaries. I just didn't think about how we were going to get there or what that was going to look like. Then our organization began teaching us about partnership and what a valuable part of the ministry it is, not only for the missionary, but also for the partner as they invest in the ministry and take part in the great commission alongside the missionary. Partnering together we take the good news of John 3:16 to the world. Did you know that even Jesus and his disciples had partners who supported their ministry as they went from town to town proclaiming the gospel? That is pretty awesome! Read Luke 8:1-3 about some women who supported them out of their own means. What is really neat to me is how these women had themselves experienced and were impacted by Jesus and the work of the gospel. I believe that they supported God's work because of their gratitude for what Jesus had done for them.

When we left for our first term to the mission field, we were able to confidently go and serve for 4 years because of individuals and churches who joined us through regular giving to our ministry. As they partner with us, they help to provide the necessary funding to sustain our ministry budget and hold us and our ministry up through their prayer support as we serve. As our partners invest in God's work through their finances, they enable us to invest in the lives of people we encounter and engage with on the mission field through proclaiming the gospel, teaching God's word, sharing Christ's hope and love for them, and discipling Christians. Together we were part of God's work of impacting and transforming lives in Riohacha and Venezuela, and together we will be part of God's work in Armenia. We are grateful for each of you who partnered with us during our first term and continue to partner with us. And we are grateful for each of you who have joined our team of partners over the past few months as we have traveled and shared. In the words of Paul in Philippians 1:3-5, "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now."

Some have asked if their partnership needs to be renewed. We want you to know that
If you have been partnering with us in ministry, your partnership continues, but if you'd like to increase your giving you can contact the SAM office. We look forward to our continued partnership in ministry in Armenia, Colombia.

God is doing great things in and through Iglesia Nueva Esperanza and the foundation Manos de Esperanza, and we're looking forward to joining in ministry with Pastor Jorge and his wife Kristina and being part of God's plan to show His love, hope, and salvation to the people in this community in Armenia. And we can't wait to share those amazing blessings with each of you on this blog.

In just a few short months, we will be returning to Colombia, but we still need more financial partners to help fund our ministry budget. Have you considered how God is calling you to invest in His work? Are you looking for a ministry to partner with? We want to invite you to join us in ministry in Armenia by partnering with us through a monthly donation. Whether you partner with us at $10/month or $100/month, every gift and every partner is part of proclaiming the hope of the Gospel in Armenia and enabling us to serve as full-time missionaries there.

The Gospel Message
Jesus Christ died on the cross that we might be saved and have life in Him.
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."

Jesus Christ rose from the dead conquering death and proving that he was and is the son of God with power to save and give new life, the one in whom we can place our faith.
1 Corinthians 15:1-3 "Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures."
1 Peter 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
John 11:25-26 - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.[d] Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
